Santa Ana: SWAT Team Raids Apartment Looking For Mistakenly Released Murder Suspect

03.13.2021 | 12:30 AM | SANTA ANA – A SWAT team raided an apartment looking for a murder suspect who was mistakenly released from jail but did not locate the fugitive, early Saturday morning.

The team of SWAT officers surrounded an apartment located in the 3400 block of South Main Street with armored vehicles after receiving information that 23-year-old Steven Manzo was holed up inside.

After ordering occupants of the apartment to exit, three people emerged and were detained without incident.

Officers searched the apartment but Manzo was not located inside.  The three people detained were identified as family members of Manzo and released.

Manzo has been the subject of a manhunt after being mistakenly released from a Los Angeles County Jail on Tuesday afternoon. He was originally in-custody on murder charges related to the fatal 2018 shooting death of a person in Long Beach.
