Tustin: Armed Man Killed By Police, Woman Found Deceased

08.24.2026 | 2:32 PM | TUSTIN – A man was shot and killed by Tustin police officers Monday afternoon after he advanced on them with a knife during a domestic incident call, according to a Tustin Police Department press release. Officers later found a woman deceased inside a residence at the scene of the officer-involved shooting.

The incident began shortly after 2:30 PM when officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Walnut Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance. The call was upgraded to a possible homicide before officers reached the scene.

When officers arrived and made contact with the male subject, they observed a woman lying unresponsive on the floor inside the home. The man then moved toward officers with a knife. At least one officer opened fire, the release said.

Officers rendered aid at the scene, but the man died from his injuries.

The Tustin Police Department did not immediately release the identities of either individual and further information regarding the officer-involved shooting was not available.
