Garden Grove: Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Hit & Run Driver

10.23.2026 | 11:17 PM | GARDEN GROVE – A 69-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver who was followed by a good Samaritan, late Friday night.

The collision was reported in the 12700 block of Harbor Boulevard, near Palm Avenue, when a white 2014 Cadillac SRX struck the female and fled the scene, according to a police press release.

Medics located the woman down in the roadway and rendered aid before transporting her to a nearby hospital, authorities say. Unfortunately the woman succumbed to her injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

A witness followed the Cadillac and directed police to its location leading to the arrest of its driver on charges of hit-and-run, police said. Impairment was also suspected to be a factor but there was no word on whether the driver would face DUI charges.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Reed by calling (714) 741-5230 or by emailing ThomasR@ggcity.org.

Anonymous tips can be submitted through the Orange County Crime Stoppers by calling (855) TIP-OCCS or by visiting their website at www.occrimestoppers.org.
