08.20.2026 | 9:42 PM | MISSION VIEJO – A 21-year-old woman was killed and two drivers were arrested Thursday night following a crash authorities say was caused by street racing in Mission Viejo, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies and Orange County Fire Authority crews responded to Los Alisos Boulevard and Entidad shortly before 9:42 p.m. At least one vehicle was found with major damage at the scene.
Shalia Deciderio, 21, of Rancho Santa Margarita, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle she was in, Jaime Rojas, 20, of Mission Viejo, was transported to a hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the racing, Aiden Deciderio, 21, of Rancho Santa Margarita, remained at the scene following the collision.
A sheriff’s helicopter was requested to search for any additional occupants. A SigAlert was issued closing all lanes at the location while investigators worked the scene.
Both Rojas and Aiden Deciderio were arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, according to the OCSD press release.
