Tustin: Police K9 Reportedly Bites, Injures Burglary Suspect

10.22.2021 | 1:19 AM | TUSTIN – A police K9 reportedly bit a commercial burglary suspect, early Friday morning.

The suspected burglar was bitten by a police K9 at a business located in the 1000 block of Bell Avenue sometime around 1:19 AM, according to radio and witness reports.

Firefighter paramedics responded to the scene and treated the male suspect before transporting him to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesperson was not immediately available but a security guard in the area reported that the police K9 could be heard biting the man shortly after announcements were made warning of the dog.

It was unclear if any other suspects were apprehended or outstanding.
