12.18.2019 | 1:10 AM | ANAHEIM – A number of vehicles were impounded and several arrests made after a specialized task force intercepted a number of individuals attempting to stop traffic and perform stunts on an area freeway, early Saturday morning.
Officers part of a multi-agency task force to combat street racing were tracking a group of suspects on the southbound SR-57 Freeway just north of Orangewood Avenue around 1:10 AM.
The task force officers received information that the group was planning to shutdown a section of the SR-57 Freeway in order to perform stunts and other illegal activities.
After observing several vehicles perform stunts and stopping lanes of traffic the officers performed a traffic break and stopped approximately 10 vehicles.
All of the drivers and their passengers were detained and several were expected to be arrested.
The stopped vehicles were at risk of being impounded and several were seen being towed.
