02.12.2022 | 11:43 PM | SANTA ANA – A shooting victim died after being rushed to a hospital after yet another injury shooting, late Saturday night.
The deadly shooting was reported near the intersection East Pine and South Maple streets around 11:43 PM.
At the scene authorities discovered a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his torso.
First responders provided care to the shooting victim, later identified as 36-year-old Cesar Fierros Gonzalez, before rushing him to an area hospital.
Despite their efforts Gonzalez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The deadly shooting occurred just a block from where a another shooting left a 27-year-old man dead just weeks prior on Jan. 29.
Since the beginning of the year at least nine people have been struck by gunfire in Santa Ana, some fatally. The violence has continued with weeks of back-to-back shootings on the weekend.
No suspect description or motive was immediately available but authorities are continuing to investigate.
