11.07.2026 | 2:19 AM | SANTA ANA – A man was shot while in the backyard of a home but it was unclear if the shooting was accidental or the result of criminal activity, early Saturday morning.
Callers reported a shooting with a victim that had been struck in the backyard of a residence in the 700 block of South Forest Circle around 2:19 AM, according to radio reports.
When authorities arrived they found a male adult suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body, video shows.
The man was treated on scene by medics before being rushed to UCI Medical Center in Orange for further treatment. A police spokeswoman confirmed the man was in stable conditions.
Police said no arrests had been made and a suspect was outstanding, though at least one witness said the incident was accidental.
No other injuries were reported and it appeared a party or gathering was ongoing in the backyard where the victim was found when the shooting unfolded.
