Santa Ana: Man Dead After Being Gunned Down

01.29.2022 | 12:56 AM | SANTA ANA – A 27-year-old man was dead after he was gunned down in a residential neighborhood, early Saturday morning.

Callers reported gunfire near the intersection of South Oak and East Pine streets shortly before 1:00 AM.

When authorities arrived in the area they found a male down on the sidewalk in front of a residence in the 500 block of East Pine Street.

Firefighter paramedics responded to the scene and treated the man for an apparent gunshot wound to his torso before rushing him to OC Global Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

The victim was identified by authorities as 27-year-old Daniel Sixtos, of Santa Ana.

Witnesses say two men exited a pair of vehicles and opened fire on the victim before fleeing but police could not immediately confirm that information.

Both suspects fled the scene and remain at-large.
