Santa Ana: Bicyclist Struck, Killed By Van

02.21.2022 | 6:59 PM | SANTA ANA – A crash involving a van left a bicyclist dead, Monday evening.

The crash involving a bicyclist was reported near the intersection of West 1st Street and North Figueroa Street shortly before 7:00 PM.

When units arrived on scene they located a silver van that had collided with a male adult on a yellow bicycle.

Despite the efforts of first responders the bicyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on  scene.

The driver of the van remained on scene and was cooperating with law enforcement.

Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision although authorities are still investigating.

Another bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Feb. 12 that occurred just a block away near the intersection of West First and South Newhope streets.
