03.16.2022 | 5:00 PM | MISSION VIEJO – The husband of a woman who was found dead inside a home was arrested and charged with murder, authorities announced Wednesday.
Homicide investigators arrested 86-year-old William Garland Wiley after being called to investigate the death of his elderly wife on Tuesday, Mar. 15.
Wiley, who reportedly suffers from dementia, was booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder. He was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
His wife, whose identity was withheld pending an autopsy, was found dead in a home in the 28100 block of Via Arriaga.
The circumstances surrounding her death were considered “suspicious” prompting a homicide investigation.
Authorities indicated they do not believe is any outstanding threat to public safety.
