08.20.2023 | 12:19 PM | LAKE FOREST – Deputies shot a suspect in a fatal double stabbing at an apartment complex, Sunday afternoon.
The incident began to unfold when authorities responded to reports of a double stabbing at the Crestwood Apartment Homes, located in the 21000 block of Osterman Road, around 12:19 PM.
When deputies arrived they located two stabbing victims, including one female that later died at the scene, and were informed that the suspect, a male in his 20s, was inside an apartment.
Deputies kicked down the door to the apartment and ultimately opened fire on the male stabbing suspect.
First responders transported the suspect along with the second stabbing victim to an area hospital. The condition of the surviving victim and suspect was not disclosed.
All three victims were believed to be related but the nature of their relationship was not disclosed.
No deputies were injured and it was unclear if any weapons from the suspect were recovered.
