Anaheim: Arrests Made In Connection With Murder Of Man Found Down

05.17.2022 | 3:30 PM | ANAHEIM – Two people were arrested in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Gilbert Daisaku Johnson in 2021, police announced Tuesday.

Johnson, an unhoused individual who previously lived in Costa Mesa, died on Nov. 18, 2021 several days after being found by officers responding to an unknown trouble call in the 100 block of West Broadway.

After a half-year investigation detectives arrested Daniel Salazar, 30, and 20-year-old Kaitlyn Rose Stewart, in different parts of Anaheim on May 16, 2022.

Both suspects were believed to be suspects in Johnson’s death although only Salazar was booked on murder charges and being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Stewart, on the other hand, was booked on a robbery charges and held in lieu of only $50,000 bail.
