Anaheim: Man Dies After Being Found Down

11.18.2021 | 5:13 PM | ANAHEIM – A 32-year-old man died in a hospital today after being found down suffering from injuries consistent with an assault.

The victim, identified by police as 32-year-old Gilbert Daisaku Johnson, an unhoused individual who previously lived in Costa Mesa, was found down by officers responding to an unknown trouble call in the 100 block of West Broadway, near Anaheim Boulevard, around 3:45 AM on Monday.

Firefighter paramedics treated Johnson on scene before rushing him to an area hospital where he remained hospitalized until being pronounced deceased on Thursday.

Initial reports indicated that Johnson’s injuries appeared consist with an assault however no suspect description or motive was immediately available.
