Yorba Linda: Two Dead After Truck Jumps Dirt Pile, Lands Sideways Into House

06.17.2017 | 11:24 PM | YORBA LINDA – Two were dead after a truck traveling at high speeds jumped a curb and crashed into a fence before launching off of a dirt pile into the air and landing into the side of a house, late Saturday night.

At 11:24 PM Saturday night, the Orange County Fire Authority responded to reports of a vehicle into a structure in the 5600 block of Lakeview Avenue in Yorba Linda.

Crews arriving on scene found a solo vehicle that had veered off the road at high-speeds up a berm where it was launched into the air before landing sideways into the home.

Six occupants were home at the time with several coming within inches of the impact. Two adults and one child from the home were transported with minor injuries to an area hospital.

Both occupants of the vehicle were pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics. They were later identified as Donald Wall, 38, and Danielle Velazquez, 40, both residents of Yorba Linda.

Firefighters worked for nearly two hours to free the occupants of the vehicle whose bodies were trapped in the wreckage.

All lanes of Lakeview Avenue between Via Arboleda and Buena Vista were closed until further notice.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Reconstruction Team is handling the investigation.
