The four deputies were arresting a misdemeanor suspect near the intersection of Imperial Highway and Casa Loma Avenue around 12:25 AM when a maroon Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound on Imperial Highway struck several patrol vehicles stopped at the scene.

All five victims were rushed to area hospitals for treatment. Their conditions varied from minor to moderate, authorities said.
The driver of the Silverado that struck the deputies was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI although their identity was not immediately released.
A total of four police vehicles were damaged in the collision.
