Westminster: Driver Dead After Crashing Into Parked Cars While Fleeing Another Crash

06.19.2021 | 2:36 AM | WESTMINSTER – A man who was being chased after rear-ending another vehicle died when he crashed into several parked cars, early Saturday morning.

The crash was reported on McFadden Avenue near Swallow Lane around 2:36 AM.

When authorities arrived on scene they located a silver Honda Accord that had collided with four vehicles parked along McFadden Avenue.

The driver of the Honda was injured and first responders attempted life-saving measures before pronouncing him deceased on scene. He was later identified by officials as as 23-year-old Juan Ayala, of Santa Ana.

Initial reports indicate the driver of the Honda rear-ended a dark grey Toyota Corolla in Santa Ana. The driver of the Corolla began to follow the Honda when the vehicle crashed.

No other injuries were reported and it remains unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

All lanes of McFadden Avenue between Bushard and Brookhurst streets were closed while authorities investigated the fatal collision.
