Tustin: Suspicious Fire Burns Outbuilding

12.09.2020 | 10:53 PM | TUSTIN – A suspicious fire burned an outbuilding prompting an arson investigation, late Thursday night.

The fire was reported residents who live behind a vacant commercial building in the 1000 block of Irvine Boulevard around 10:53 PM.

When firefighters arrived on scene they found an outbuilding next to the commercial structure with heavy fire and smoke showing from the roof.

Crews doused the flames and achieved knockdown of the fire in just under twenty minutes.

Several carts and other debris were pulled from the outbuilding prompting fire investigators to respond.

A little more than an hour after the fire broke out police detained a suspected arsonist in relationship to the incident.

It remains unclear if the man was eventually booked or released pending further investigation.
