Tustin: Suspected DUI Driver Crashes Into Car, Forces It Into Police Vehicle

08.31.2021 | 12:49 AM | TUSTIN – A suspected DUI driver crashed into a vehicle stopped at a light forcing it to collide with a police vehicle, early Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 12:49 AM when a grey 2007 Honda Accord collided with a white 1992 Toyota Paseo that was stopped facing westbound on Edinger Avenue at Red Hill Avenue.

A Tustin Police Department patrol vehicle that was in front of the Toyota was also struck in the crash but no injuries to any occupants were reported.

Witnesses at the Fanous Mediterranean Grill said the driver of the Honda backed up after the crash and continued through the intersection before stopping in a nearby parking lot.

After being administered field sobriety tests the driver of the Honda was placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI.
