Tustin: Suspected Carjackers Taken Into Custody After Search

01.04.2020 | 8:40 PM | TUSTIN – Three carjacking suspects were taken into custody after allegedly carjacking a man in Santa Ana, Saturday night.

A white Jeep Wrangler was carjacked sometime Saturday night by three suspects in the city of Santa Ana.

Officers in Tustin conducted a patrol check of the Key Inn & Suites in the 1600 block of El Camino Real around 8:40 PM located the carjacked vehicle parked with three occupants inside.

The officers attempted to contact the subjects inside the vehicle and detained two females without incident.

A third suspect, reportedly a male, fled on foot into a nearby residential neighborhood prompting a large police response.

After several hours of searching from the air and ground officers located the final suspect and took them into custody without incident.

The circumstances surrounding the carjacking remain under investigation.
