Tustin: Shooting Victim Transported After Leading Officers On Pursuit

02.24.2022 | 8:29 PM | TUSTIN – A shooting victim was transported to a hospital after leading officers on a pursuit, Thursday night.

The chase began when officers attempted to stop a silver Lexus sedan with apparent bullet holes on the driver’s side somewhere in Tustin around 8:30 PM.

The driver of the vehicle, who police say appeared to be in distress, failed to yield to officers and led them on a brief pursuit that ended on Warner Avenue near Tustin Ranch Road at the The District around 8:45 PM.

When the chase ended officers discovered the driver had been struck by gunfire and began life-saving medical care.

Firefighter paramedics later transported the driver to an area hospital for treatment. Their condition was not immediately known.

It was unclear where the driver was shot or what led up to the shooting but police continuing to investigate.
