Date/Time: 06-15-2023 | 8:02 PM Location: Mitchell Avenue & Newport Avenue City: Tustin Details: A serious, possibly fatal, crash involving a pedestrian prompted a road closure and investigation, Thursday night; The crash involving a pedestrian was reported at the time and place above; Police released only scant details (set forth below) on social media: Witnesses reported the victim may have been a teenager; There is conflicting reports as to whether the pedestrian was pronounced deceased or transported; It was unclear how many victims there were or if the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene; Today, 06/15/2023, at approximately 8:02pm, Tustin Police Officers responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Newport Ave and Mitchell Ave. The traffic collision resulted in major injuries to involved parties and the Traffic Unit is currently on scene investigating the collision. Northbound Newport Avenue is closed from McFadden Avenue to Nisson Road until further notice. Our thoughts are with all those involved in tonight’s incident.
