Tustin: Person Injured After Officer-Involved Shooting On Former MCAS Tustin

07.09.2019 | 8:17 AM | TUSTIN – A person was gunned down by a police officer on the former Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Tustin, Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a trespasser on the former military base near the intersection of Armstrong and Valencia avenues around 8:00 AM.

An officer arriving on scene entered the base and located a building with “subjects inside” including one who was armed with a metal object.

The officer opened fire on the man who was treated on scene by firefighter paramedics before being transported to OC Global Hospital in unknown condition.

Officials would not confirm whether the person struck was a suspect saying only that there “are no outstanding suspects and no danger to the community.”

The Orange County District Attorney’s office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the officer-involved shooting.
