Tustin: Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Struck While In Roadway

03.20.2022 | 1:27 AM | TUSTIN – A man who was in a roadway was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle, early Sunday morning.

The traffic collision involving a pedestrian was reported in the 1600 block of Barranca Parkway around 1:27 AM.

When authorities arrived they located an adult male down in the westbound lanes of Barranca Parkway, just east of Red Hill Avenue. Initial reports indicate that the pedestrian had been struck by a black Ford Fusion while outside of a crosswalk.

The pedestrian was seriously injured and rushed to OC Global Medical Center by firefighter paramedics where he remains in critical condition.

The driver that struck the pedestrian remained on scene and was cooperating with law enforcement.

Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision but authorities are continuing to investigate.

All westbound lanes of Barranca Parkway were closed between Aston Street and Red Hill Avenue until further notice while the investigation was underway.
