05.14.2026 | 6:11 PM | TUSTIN – A 42-year-old woman was gunned down and the shooter responsible fled is being sought by police, Thursday evening.
Multiple callers reported gunfire in the area of Yorba Street and Medford Avenue around 6:11 PM.
When authorities arrived in the area they found a 42-year-old woman unresponsive on the eastern curb line and pronounced her deceased at the scene.
Family identified the woman as Sandra Rodriguez, a single-mother to children between the ages of 5 and 21. Friends of Rodriguez said she was returning home from a new job when she was gunned down.
Witnesses reported seeing a male suspect in dark clothing flee the scene in a dark colored, older model sedan following the gunfire.
No motive was revealed but police said they believe the deadly shooting to be an isolated incident.
