09.05.2021 | 10:45 PM | TUSTIN – A man was found bloodied in a shopping center parking lot after being assaulted, late Sunday night.
The incident was reported as a traffic collision involving a pedestrian at The Market Place in Tustin, located in the 3000 block of El Camino Real, around 10:45 PM.
Units arriving on scene located an adult male down in the parking lot bloodied and began to render aid.
Firefighter paramedics transported the man to an area hospital in unknown condition.
Preliminary police indicate that the victim was involved in a dispute with another male regarding a former girlfriend when he was assaulted, according to Lieutenant Stephanie Nichols.
She could not confirm he was struck by a vehicle during the assault but added that the victim was not cooperating with the investigation.
One person on scene said they overheard officers discussing the incident as a hit-and-run and described as gold sedan as a possible suspect vehicle but this information could not be confirmed.
A police watch commander said he was unaware of the details regarding the incident when contacted.
