Tustin: Man Rescued From Storm Drain After Becoming Lost

07.19.2021 | 9:16 PM | TUSTIN – A man who became lost in a storm drain system had to be rescued by firefighters, Monday night.

Callers reported a man underneath a storm drain grate yelling for help in the backyard of a residence located in the 17600 block of Medford Avenue around 9:16 PM.

When units arrived on scene they located a man who became lost during an attempt to navigate the storm drain system.

Using the Jaws of Life and other power tools firefighters were able to wedge the grate open allowing the man and his bicycle to be removed.

Firefighter paramedics evaluated the man on scene but he declined medical treatment.

Police are evaluating what, if any, charges the individual might face.
