Tustin: Hit & Run Driver Apprehended After Rollover Crash

10.14.2020 | 1:33 AM | TUSTIN – A driver who fled from a rollover crash was apprehended by police, early Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred on Edinger Avenue between Kensington Park Drive and Red Hill Avenue around 1:30 AM.

When officials arrived on scene they found a red 2007 Chevrolet Silverado that had struck several trees and overturned before coming to rest on its side against a sound wall.

The truck was empty and a police helicopter was requested to help search the area.

A news photographer located the bloodied driver near a commercial building in the area and flagged down officers who quickly detained the man.

The man admitted to being the driver of the vehicle and added that he was on probation.

Paramedics transported the man to an area hospital for treatment.

It is unclear what charges he might face and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
