Tustin: Fire In Apartment Building Snuffed By Firefighters

05.20.2024 | 12:17 AM | TUSTIN – The quick work of firefighters kept a fire from spreading inside an apartment building, early Monday morning.

The fire was reported in an apartment complex located in the 1700 block of Mitchell Avenue around 12:17 AM.

When authorities arrived they located a two-story building containing four units with heavy smoke showing from the roof.

Firefighters evacuated the building and worked to find the seat of the fire between the first and second floor.

The fire was quickly extinguished though some of the fire reached a common attic after traveling through a void.

Ultimately the fire was contained to a single unit and extinguished within 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Red Cross was requested to assist with several displaced residents and their canine companion.
