Tustin: Fire Breaks Out Inside Popular Chinese & Vietnamese Restaurant

06.15.2021 | 9:49 PM | TUSTIN – A fire broke out inside a popular Chinese and Vietnamese restaurant but was quickly extinguished by firefighters, Tuesday night.

The fire was reported at Kim Huong Vietnamese & Chinese Food, a popular restaurant located in the 17300 block of McFadden Avenue, around 9:49 PM.

When crews arrived on scene they located a single-story strip mall with smoke showing from inside the middle unit.

Firefighters forced entry in to the restaurant where they quickly extinguished a fire near the kitchen before flames could spread to adjacent businesses.

Several units in the building, including the restaurant of origin, were charged with smoke but firefighters are using fans to mitigate potential damage.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire but no injuries were reported.
