Tustin: Fiery Crash Splits Car In Half, Critically Burns Occupant

12.28.2021 | 11:16 PM | TUSTIN – A fiery crash split a vehicle in half leaving one of its two occupants with critical burns, late Tuesday night.

The crash was reported on Tustin Ranch Road near Pioneer Way, not far from OCFA Fire Station 43 and the Regional Fire Operations & Training Center, around 11:16 PM.

When crews arrived on scene they located a grey vehicle that has split into two and burst into flames after losing control and colliding with a row of trees.

Two people from the crash were located nearby, including one man who had sustained critical burns, according to radio traffic.

Both victims were rushed to nearby hospitals in unknown condition while firefighters quickly extinguished the vehicle fire.

The vehicle involved was reportedly a Tesla, according to sources on scene.

All southbound lanes of Tustin Ranch Road were closed between Pioneer Way and Jamboree Road while authorities investigated the fiery crash. That closure was expected to be picked up by around 5:00 AM.
