Tustin: Driver Injured After Crashing MINI Cooper Into Restaurant

07.23.2024 | 9:11 PM | TUSTIN – A MINI Cooper driver was injured after crashing into a burger joint, Tuesday night.

The white MINI Cooper lost control and careened into Peter’s Gourmade Burgers, a burger restaurant located in the 14300 block of Newport Avenue, around 9:11 PM.

When authorities arrived they located the MINI Cooper lodged inside the restaurant along with major damage from the collision.

The MINI’s apparent driver, a male adult, was located on the ground nearby and treated by medics before being rushed to OC Global Medical Center. His condition was not immediately known.

The force of the collision left the restaurant in dissaray and required firefighters to shore up the building before working to dislodge the MINI.

No other injures were reported and the restaurant had closed a little over an hour prior to the collision.

The cause of the collision is under investigation though speed appears to have played a role.
