Tustin: Driver Flees After Major Freeway Crash, Another Trapped

11.04.2019 | 7:52 PM | TUSTIN – A three-car crash left one person trapped while another fled from the scene on foot, Monday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving multiple vehicles on the northbound I-5 Freeway at the Red Hill Avenue overcrossing around 7:52 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a crash involving three vehicles including a grey sedan on its roof with a person trapped inside.

Firefighter paramedics quickly stabilized the overturned vehicle and extricated the solo occupant before rushing them to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Initial reports indicate that the driver of a silver Chevrolet sedan fled the scene on foot shortly after the crash.

The driver and passenger of the third vehicle, a blue Toyota sedan, were uninjured.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation and no description of the driver that fled was immediately available.
