10.24.2021 | 3:10 AM | TUSTIN – Multiple vehicles were involved in two crashes that occurred after a vehicle became disabled in lanes of a busy freeway, early Sunday morning.
The incident began to unfold around 3:10 AM when a disabled vehicle was reported blocking a lane on the southbound I-5 Freeway just north of Red Hill Avenue.
While authorities were still responding, the disabled vehicle was struck in a collision that involved a total of three vehicles.
The crash left vehicles and debris scattered across all lanes of the freeway which resulted in a second two-vehicle crash before officers could stop all lanes of traffic.
Neither of the collisions resulted in serious injuries and officers quickly reopened lanes to traffic.
It was not immediately clear if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crashes but a can of White Claw was observed on the passenger floorboard of one of the vehicles and occupants of another had vomited on the freeway.
