10.24.2020 | 8:27 PM | TUSTIN – Flames engulfed a vehicle along a busy freeway causing traffic to slow but the driver escaped injury, Saturday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle fire on the northbound SR-55 Freeway just south of the I-5 Freeway shortly before 8:30 PM.
Units arriving on scene found a red 2019 Toyota 86 couple engulfed in flames on the right shoulder of the freeway.
Firefighters made quick work of the fire and quickly extinguished the blaze.
The driver and solo occupant of the vehicle was able to exit the vehicle before it became fully engulfed and was not injured.
Freeway traffic was slowed while first responders worked to investigate the incident.
