Stanton: Two Shot, One Fatally In Residential Community

06.29.2022 | 1:00 AM | STANTON – Two people were shot, one fatally, following an apparent altercation in a residential community, sheriff officials announced Tuesday night.

Deputies responded to the reported shooting near the intersection of Santa Rosalia and Lessue Avenue around 7:22 PM on Tuesday, Jun. 29.

When authorities arrived on scene they located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Medics rushed both victims to an area hospital where one of the victims succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The condition of the second victim was not immediately released.

A perimeter was established surrounding the scene of the shooting was established while investigates scoured the scene.

At least one resident of the area posted online stating the shooting broke out when a good Samaritan intervened in a dispute but that information could not be confirmed by authorities.

No description of the shooter(s) were released and residents are asked to avoid the area for several hours.
