11.13.2021 | 11:52 PM | SEAL BEACH – Two people were dead after the vehicle they were riding in burst into flames after crashing on a busy freeway, late Saturday night.
The fiery crash was reported on the southbound I-405 Freeway just north of Seal Beach Boulevard around 11:52 PM.
Units arriving on scene located two-vehicles blocking lanes including a 2000 Honda S2000 that was engulfed in flames, according to a CHP incident log and radio traffic.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames but later discovered two victims deceased inside the Honda.
A third victim from the other involved vehicle, described as a Volkswagen sedan, was treated on scene before being rushed to UCI Medical Center as a trauma patient.
Officers are looking for the driver of a maroon Mazda that might have rear-end damage related to the crash, radio traffic indicated. The vehicle was reportedly driven by a black female in her 30s with bleached blonde hair.
A blood technician was requested for an evidential blood draw to assist in an apparent DUI investigation related to the crash.
All lanes of the southbound I-405 Freeway were closed at Seal Beach Boulevard for several hours while police investigated the fatal crash.
