Santa Ana: Team Mexico World Cup Celebrations Erupt

06.30.2026 | 9:00 PM | SANTA ANA – Hundreds of revelers flooded the streets of Santa Ana Tuesday night to celebrate Team Mexico’s World Cup victory over Ecuador, with celebrations that included illegal fireworks, burnouts, and crowds climbing street infrastructure.

The win advances Mexico to the Round of 16 in the ongoing tournament.

Crowds gathered near the intersections of Bush Street and 4th Street and Bristol Street and McFadden Avenue for celebrations that grew increasingly rowdy throughout the evening.

Video from the Bristol Street corridor showed participants shooting off illegal fireworks, scaling street lights and transit shelters, and performing burnouts in the roadway.

Santa Ana Police Department officers were on scene monitoring the crowds. No arrests or injuries were immediately reported.
