Santa Ana: SWAT Team Searches Home After Shooting

10.23.2021 | 6:23 PM | SANTA ANA – A verbal altercation escalated when a known gang-member opened fire in an incident that later prompted the response of a SWAT team, Saturday night.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired the 1400 block of West Santa Ana Boulevard, near North Hesperian Street, around 6:23 PM.

When units arrived on scene they learned that a verbal altercation had occurred and that one of the involved parties, a known gang-member, left the area before returning with a firearm

The gang-member is believed to have used the weapon to fire several shots before fleeing.

No injuries from the shooting were reported and officers quickly identified the location of the suspected shooter at a home in the 1300 block of West Third Street.

A team of officers surrounded the home and ordered several individuals, including the suspect, out of the home.

All occupants complied and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

After securing a search-warrant, a SWAT team entered the home to look for any additional suspects or evidence.
