05.20.2024 | 10:00 PM | SANTA ANA – A domestic violence suspect was taken into custody following a SWAT standoff and reports of a possible hostage situation, Monday night.
Neighbors heard arguing followed by a large police response to a home in the 1200 block of South Towner Street shortly before 10:00 PM.
When police arrived they learned that a suspect was inside the home and possibly holding his girlfriend against her will.
A SWAT team responded while police evacuated nearby homes and began efforts to contact the suspect to peacefully surrender.
After more than three hours the suspect surrendered peacefully and was taken into police custody.
No injuries were reported and additional details regarding the incident were not immediately available.
