05.04.2022 | 2:00 PM | SANTA ANA – A suspect sexual predator who kidnapped a woman before sexually assaulting her inside a vacant home was behind bars, police announced Wednesday.

Juan Aguilar Garcia, 30, of Santa Ana, was arrested late on Apr. 30, 2022  after reportedly kidnapping a 40-year-old woman who he had asked for directions to a gas station in the 1600 block of North Ross Street around 10:30 PM.

As the victim was giving Garcia directions he covered her mouth, picked her up, and carried her into a vacant home where he sexually assaulted her, police said.

The victim was able to flee the home after the assault and directed officers to the home where the attack occurred. The officers subsequently arrested Garcia that same night and charged him with several sexual assault related charges.

Records from the Orange County Jail indicate Garcia, who listed his occupation as “land scape,” is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 19, 2022.

Detectives suspect Garcia may have assaulted other victims and are urging anyone with information to contact Detective Jorge Garcia at (714) 245-8732 or jgarcia@santa-ana.org.
