07.13.2022 | 8:00 PM | SANTA ANA – A suspect in a daytime shooting was taken into custody while his victim died in a hospital Wednesday, police said.
Alex Hernandez, 19, of Santa Ana was arrested in connection with the shooting of a man identified as 21-year-old Luis Garcia, of Santa Ana, that was found down in a driveway near the intersection of Grand and McFadden avenues around 1:13 PM on Monday, Jul. 11, 2022.
Police say the shooting initially left Garcia in critical condition but that he succumbed to his injuries sometime Wednesday.
The deadly daytime shooting was believed to be gang-related although an investigation is ongoing.
