Santa Ana: Solo Crash Into Tree Prompts Intricate Extrication

02.25.2023 | 11:04 PM | SANTA ANA – A man was cut free from his vehicle after a crash into a tree left him pinned inside, late Saturday night.

The traffic collision involving a single vehicle was reported in the 3000 block of West MacArthur Boulevard, near Lake Center Drive, shortly after 11:00 PM.

When authorities arrived they located a white 1999 Lexus GS 300  that failed to negotiate a curve in the road and departed the roadway before striking a large tree.

The male adult driver and solo occupant was pinned inside the vehicle as a result of the impact.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove several doors and the vehicle’s roof to free the trapped driver.

Medics rushed the man, who was alert and conscious, to OC Global Medical Center for treatment.

The cause of the collision is under investigation and slick roads may have played a role in the collision.
