Santa Ana: Short Pursuit Ends With Crash Into Burger King

11.07.2021 | 1:28 AM | SANTA ANA – A short pursuit ended when with a crash into the side of a Burger King restaurant, early Sunday morning.

The chase began when officers attempted to stop a black 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe shortly before 1:30 AM.

The driver of the Chevrolet refused to stop prompting a brief pursuit that came to a quick end when the Chevrolet collided with the side of a Burger King restaurant located in the 600 block of East Dyer Road.

Police quickly apprehended the female driver and detained a male passenger while firefighters responded to the scene.

A gas line and water pipe were sheared as a result of the crash but was quickly contained by firefighters.

The female driver was later transported to an area hospital by firefighter paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the woman will face felony charges upon her release from the hospital.

The male passenger was later released without charges.
