Santa Ana: School Trespasser Crashes Into Children, Hurts Self Before Authorities Find Incendiary Devices

05.23.2022 | 6:00 PM | SANTA ANA – Incendiary devices were found inside the car of a trespasser after he ran into three children and then tried to hurt himself with a knife, police announced.

The bizarre incident began to unfold near the Taft Elementary School, located in the 500 block of Keller Avenue, around 8:23 AM when authorities were alerted to a traffic collision involving several children.

When authorities arrived they located three children that sustained injuries when they were struck by a vehicle.

All three children were rushed to area hospitals in unknown condition was unknown.

The driver of the vehicle, who was reportedly armed with a knife and tried to hurt themself, was also transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Police later found at least four incendiary devices in the driver’s car and learned that the driver trespassed onto the Taft Elementary School campus before being escorted off just before the crash.

The identity of the driver was not immediately identified and there was no word on what might have motivated the incident.
