Santa Ana: Pursuit Crash Leaves Major Damage, Civilians Escape Injury

03.06.2021 | 2:09 AM | SANTA ANA – A pursuit of a reckless driver ended with a crash that left major damage but no serious injuries, early Saturday morning.

The crash occurred near the intersection of South Main Street and West Borchard Avenue around 2:14 AM when a black Cadillac Escalade being pursued by police collided with a white Chevrolet Astro Van.

After colliding with the Chevrolet, the Cadillac continued on and sideswiped a Honda Accord before hitting the side of a church and eventually downing a light pole.

Police say they were chasing the Cadillac after it’s driver fled from an officer attempting to stop vehicle for reckless driving near the intersection of Main Street and Edinger Avenue around 2:09 AM.

Despite causing major damage, the driver of the Cadillac sustained only minor injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet Astro Van along with both occupants in the Honda Accord escaped injury.
