Santa Ana: Pursuit Crash Injures Four

02.13.2021 | 3:10 AM | SANTA ANA – A pursuit ended with a crash that left four people injured and a wanted man in custody, early Saturday morning.

The chase began around 2:48 AM when officers attempted to stop green 1990s Toyota Corolla occupied by two males for a traffic infraction.

The driver of the Toyota failed to yield and led officers on a pursuit that lasted over 20 minutes before it was called off due to dangerous speeds.

Just one minute after calling off the pursuit the suspect’s Toyota collided with a light green 2012 KIA Soul at the intersection of West 17th and North Flower streets.

The crash injured three occupants from the KIA, including two female adults and one juvenile, and a passenger from the Toyota.

All four patients were treated on scene by firefighter paramedics before being transported by ambulance to area hospitals.

The driver of the Toyota was uninjured and found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was expected expected to be booked on the warrant and charges of felony evading and driving under the influence.
