05.28.2024 | 9:37 PM | SANTA ANA – An armed robbery suspect was arrested after being apprehended with the assistance of a police K-9, Tuesday night.
Police responded to reports of an armed robbery at an auto repair business in the 100 block of North Standard Avenue around 9:37 PM.
When officers arrived they learned that a suspect armed with a firearm had entered the business and demanded money. During the encounter the suspect struck an employee with his firearm before fleeing on foot with an unknown amount of cash.
Police canvassed the area and eventually located a suspect hiding on the property of a business in the 900 block of East Walnut Street.
Despite multiple opportunities the suspect refused to surrender and was ultimately apprehended with the assistance of a police K-9.
Medics treated the suspect at the scene for minor bite injuries before transporting him to a nearby hospital.
Police said there were no additional suspects outstanding and additional details regarding the armed robbery were not immediately available.
