Santa Ana: Police Investigate After Man Shot Near Railroad Tracks

09.07.2019 | 9:15 PM | SANTA ANA – Police are investigating after a man was found shot on railroad tracks at an apparent transient encampment, Saturday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting on the railroad tracks near the 1300 block of East Saint Gertrude Place around 9:15 PM.

Units arriving on scene found Hispanic male adult suffering from a gunshot wound next near a transient encampment along the railroad tracks between Edinger Avenue and East Saint Gertrude Place.

Firefighter paramedics treated the gunshot victim on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in stable condition.

The shooter was described only as a male Hispanic in his 20s and no motive was immediately available.

Officers cordoned off the scene of the shooting while they investigated.
