02.25.2021 | 8:50 PM | SANTA ANA – A person was struck and killed by an Amtrak Surfliner train, Thursday night.
The collision was reported near the intersection of North Lincoln and East Santa Clara avenues around 8:50 PM.
Authorities arrived on scene and found a stopped Amtrak Surfliner along with a pedestrian down on the railroad tracks.
Despite lifesaving efforts the pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene by firefighter paramedics.
No injuries to any train passengers were reported.
The identity of the pedestrian is unknown.
Railroad traffic along with all lanes of North Lincoln Avenue between Beechwood and East Santa Clara Avenue were stopped while police investigated.
